Current Projects: District Flow Splitter Improvements

Home / What We Do / Current Construction Projects / District Flow Splitter Improvements

Project Overview

The Flow Splitter structure is located within the Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant. This structure receives the entire plant’s flow after screening and grit removal in Headworks. It was constructed in 2006 as part of the District’s 10th addition.

The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate the Flow Splitter infrastructure and provide a means of bypassing the structure in case of future shutdowns. Over the past 20 years, high gas levels trapped within the structure have corroded the interior concrete walls. A new bypass channel will be constructed, and the interior walls and equipment will be repaired and replaced.

The structure rehabilitation work will be confined within the Nine Spring Wastewater Treatment Plant with minimal impacts to the surrounding area.

Public Involvement

Due to the nature of the project, no public information meetings are required for this project.
