Championing clean water for a sustainable future

At the District, we believe wastewater treatment is more than just a process. It’s a promise to protect our environment, support public health and create a cleaner, more resilient community. Advocacy is a vital part of that mission.

Advocacy matters

From safeguarding local waterways to enabling the growth of our communities, clean water infrastructure is foundational to a thriving society. We advocate for policies, funding and education that promotes sustainable water management, ensures infrastructure investment and modernization, supports climate resilience and ecosystem health and encourages public awareness.

As leaders in environmental stewardship, we work with policymakers, educators and community groups to advance clean water priorities. Our advocacy efforts include:

  • Legislative engagement – Partnering with local, state and federal agencies to shape smart water policy
  • Community outreach – Hosting plant tours, public workshops, classroom presentations and tabling events
  • Public education – Sharing resources on pollution prevention and the importance of wastewater treatment systems
  • Professional collaboration – Engaging with industry associations to promote best practices
