As part of the 2025 Wisconsin Science Festival, Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District is excited to host our Clean Water Showcase. We will have hands-on activities that show off some of the science that happens at the plant, as well as steps we can all take at home to take care of our water and protect the environment.
Activities
The highlight of this event is the re-opening of our Fish Room and Educational Lab, two favorite stops on our plant tour. Event participants will get a first public look at these reimagined spaces.
We’ll also have hands-on water chemistry experiments, mini carnival-style games, horse-drawn wagon mini tours, refreshments and more!

EVENT dates
Two event options are available; drop in during either event offering:
- Friday, October 24, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, October 25, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This event is appropriate for families and individuals of all ages, but note that some walking is required. It will be held rain or shine; please plan accordingly. Closed-toed shoes are requested.
