Construction activity on the Pumping Station 18 Force Main project is steadily moving towards completion.
Traffic control on East Broadway was switched around a bit between Edna Taylor Parkway and Copps Avenue. Traffic in this area is now one-lane in each direction and in the southernmost lanes of East Broadway. Asphalt is being removed in the northern lanes and we will begin installing force main in this area on Monday, October 6th.
On the other end of the project, there has been a substantial amount of progress made in the Yahara River Bridge area in the past couple of weeks. We have finished the installation of a tunnel under the Yahara River, something our crews have been working on for several months. The focus now is on removing all of our materials and equipment from the bridge area and restoring the pavement. Once the pavement is restored, traffic will be switched to one-lane in each direction in the southernmost lanes of West Broadway so that we can finish our work in the northernmost lanes. That traffic switch is expected to take place sometime next week or the week after.
Overall, there is still a substantial amount of work remaining to be completed on the project. The project was originally scheduled to be finished in the late October timeframe. We are now anticipating that construction activities in Broadway will be completed sometime in mid to late November.
As always, feel free to call or email me with any questions/comments/concerns.
