Rehab of Pumping Stations 1, 2 & 10

The Rehabilitation of Pumping Stations No. 1, 2 and 10 included major modifications to the three stations, which ranged in age from 39 to 53 years.  The improvements were needed to upgrade the pumping capacities and the overall condition of the stations.  A prioritization schedule developed in MMSD’s Collection System Facilities Plan (2002) ranked these three stations highest in overall need for improvements.

The project included nine new 600-horsepower pumping units, new valves and piping, new electrical power distribution and control equipment, and other work.  Building additions to house the new electrical control equipment were included at Stations No. 2 and 10, and renovation of existing office areas was included for the electrical equipment at Station No. 1.
