Lower Badger Mill Creek Interceptor-Phase 1

This project included the installation of approximately 8,000 lineal feet of new interceptor located on the southwest side of Verona.  The interceptor ranged in size from 36” diameter to 27” diameter, and extended from MMSD Pumping Station #17 (on the south end) to Edwards Street (on the north end).  Work included dewatering, bedrock excavation, several major street crossings, and abandonment of existing sewers.

This was the first phase in a series of interceptor projects to provide sanitary sewer service in the Lower Badger Mill Creek drainage basin located on the western edge of the MMSD collection system.  Future phases will extend the interceptor to Mineral Point Road to serve 9,000 acres of land located in the City of Verona, City of Madison, Town of Middleton, and Town of Verona.
