Effluent Equalization System
This project addresses a condition of the MMSD WPDES permit to investigate alternatives to minimize treated effluent overflows to Nine Springs Creek and Mud Lake.
The Effluent Equalization System includes a cast-in-place junction chamber and 260 lineal feet of 72” pipe which will divert treated effluent overflows to the western lagoon area. It also includes an overflow structure to allow water to escape the lagoons if they become full. Any effluent that is diverted to the lagoons will be returned to the Nine Springs Plant for additional treatment.
