The District offers an excellent benefits package designed to provide employees with peace of mind and balance between the demands of work and home. The District will consider remote work arrangements when appropriate. We also offer the following benefits for full-time employees and regular part-time employees (part-time hours are prorated based on the number of hours worked per week).

District Benefits

Vacation:

  • Hire Date: 100 hours prorated based on start date
  • Jan 1st following hire: date 100 hours
  • Jan 1st following 3rd anniversary: 160 hours
  • Jan 1st following 15th anniversary: 216 hours

Sick leave: Full-time employees accrue 15 days per year

Holidays/floating holidays: Ten paid holidays, plus five floating holidays every year.

Paid parental leave: Up to 6 weeks of paid parental leave for a parent (either biological or adoptive) to use for up to 24 weeks following birth/adoption.

Other leaves: The District also offers Funeral Leave; time off for jury duty and to vote; and time off for people in the military, in accordance with Federal law.

Health insurance: The District pays 88% of the cost of both the single and family plans. Coverage is effective 30 days from start date. Our health plan provides excellent coverage with no office co-pays or deductibles!

Dental: The District pays 100% of the single premium and an equal amount toward the family premium. Coverage is effective 30 days from start date.

Post-retirement health savings plan: Upon retirement, the District will convert unused sick leave and vacation into a health savings plan that can be used to pay for qualifying medical expenses after retirement.

Wisconsin Retirement System: The District is part of the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The District and all employees will pay into WRS, with the amount determined annually by the State of Wisconsin. An employee must work in a WRS-covered position for at least 5 years in order to be vested for employer contributions, provided the employee has not worked in a WRS-covered position prior to July 1, 2011. If an employee has WRS service prior to July 1, 2011, there is no vesting period.

457 Deferred Compensation and Roth IRA plan: The District sponsors a voluntary tax deferred retirement plan through MissionSquare Retirement. An after-tax Roth IRA is also sponsored. The District does not match any contributions into these plans.

Flexible spending account: The District offers health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts to enable employees to use pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified expenses.

Life insurance: The District offers term life insurance that employees can purchase through the State of Wisconsin for themselves, their spouse or their dependents. If an employee/retiree pays premiums until age 65, the employee can maintain basic coverage at no additional cost for the rest of their life.

Long-term disability: The District offers the State of Wisconsin Long-Term Disability Insurance (LTDI) program at no charge. The amount of the benefit is 40% of the employee’s salary.

Income continuation insurance (short-term disability): The District offers the State of Wisconsin Income Continuation Insurance plan, which currently has no premium for employees.

Other voluntary insurance plans: The District offers other voluntary insurance plans through AFLAC.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP): The District offers a free and confidential EAP to help employees and their family members with personal problems, such as relationship issues, depression, substance abuse, parenting, legal or financial issues.

Wellness program: District employees have the option of getting Hepatitis B vaccinations, flu shots, hearing tests and health risk assessments free of charge. We also have a wellness committee with fun activities all year long.

Employee development: We believe that investing in employees’ growth and development results in greater job satisfaction and a more effective, productive workforce. The District will cover the cost of:

  • Certifications, licenses and credentials required to carry out professional responsibilities
  • Membership and involvement in professional organizations
  • Conferences and training related to work responsibilities
  • Tuition reimbursement in furtherance of career goals up to an annual amount of $3,000
